Programs

At Crocus we believe in creating an environment of acceptance and friendship. We also want to be a place where adults living with a mental illness can find a sense of achievement and self-realization. We provide three unique programs to meet our members where they are at on any given day.

  • Work Program

    This is the real heart of Crocus Co-op’s rehabilitation strategy. Mental health consumers consistently put suitable employment programs at the top of their unmet needs list. Income from this program also contributes to the budget of Crocus, hence reducing dependency on community funding. Our work teams do yard maintenance, snow clearing, hauling, and tactile work.

  • Kitchen Program

    Healthy bodies and healthy minds go together. Members can purchase a home-style meal at an affordable price and enjoy it in a social atmosphere. Some members receive valuable work experience in our kitchen, while others are able to participate in weekly cooking groups.

  • Social Program

    Each day we provide opportunities for members to participate in a variety of drop-in social programs. These optional activities range from recreational to educational and are developed based on the needs and interests of the members. A calendar of events is put out monthly, so that members have activities to look forward to.
